About Us

Setanta Hurls main "aim is provide top quality ash wood hurls, souvenirs and accessories, and to sustain the supply in order to promote irish sport, culture and heritage".

Based in Belfast’s Westlink Enterprise Center just off the Westlink motorway, Setanta Hurls manage a large-scale distribution and retail outlet.

Setanta Hurls officially opened on 1st September 2006, however the concept has been in the making for a long period of time. Proprietor Sean Morgan engaged on a long-term market research project investigating the hurling sport, supply networks and more importantly the customers.

Due to the unprecedented demand for sticks and the push from the GAA to promote hurling, lack of ash wood and threat of composite products has prompted us to source the European market for top quality ash wood.

After intense searching and negotiation we have finally secured contracts with European timber suppliers of top quality ash wood. All timber is quality checked and goes through a number of procedures before the hurl is manufactured.

Our suppliers in Europe Astoria Group SRL have been supplying ash wood to Ireland and leading Irish hurley makers for the past 3 years and Setanta Hurls have secured a 3 year rolling contract.
